Blades still keen on Dane

Sheffield United remain hopeful of signing veteran midfielder Thomas Gravesen from Celtic.

The 31-year-old was a bit-part player towards the end of his first season in Scottish football, but his agent claims the former Everton and Real Madrid midfielder wants to remain at Parkhead and fight for a first-team place.

However, Blades boss Bryan Robson has put Gravesen at the top of his summer wish list and chairman Kevin McCabe has revealed transfer negations are ongoing.

"We've been trying to negotiate terms with Celtic," he told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"He's on our list, so now it's a question of can we conclude terms and does the player want to come to us?"
