Blades satisfy Blackwell

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell was full of praise for his side after they beat Ipswich Town 2-0 to keep their hopes of automatic promotion on track.

The Blades moved to within three points of third-placed Birmingham City due to their latest success, with Blackwell delighted with the performance.

He said: "I thought in the first 45 minutes we were unplayable.

"I said to the boys at half-time 'let's be as professional as we can and finish the game off'. In the second half I knew Ipswich had to go for it because it was maybe their last chance to get in the play-offs.

"When we had to defend we did so very well, but we still had two or three great chances to finish it off, so all in all we're very pleased.

"All we can do is keep putting pressure on, but it was a big three points."
