Blades on hunt for reinforcements

Published: 15 Mar 2010 - 16:12:36

Full-back Toni Kallio has returned to parent club Fulham for assessment on a calf injury, Kyle Bartley, on loan from Arsenal, is struggling to overcome the effects of food poisoning and skipper Chris Morgan will sit out a two-game ban after reaching 10 bookings for the season. Assistant manager Sam Ellis said: "We'll have to see if we can get someone in. I would imagine it will be someone who can play at the back because that's where we are very short. We'll have to see what we can do and the gaffer is trying to sort something out. "With all the (injury) problems we're having it's an absolute nightmare. That's not moaning. That's fact. To still be in with a shout, because we're only three points off the play-offs, well, we're delighted with the lads." Fellow defenders Gary Naysmith and Ryan France are recovering from long-term knee injuries and Derek Geary is out with an ankle problem. Coca Cola Championship Promotion 09/10. Click here to bet.
