He has struggled to hold down a place in the Blues team and would get more opportunities at Bramall Lane as they push for promotion. Birmingham manager McLeish would be willing to let him go, telling the club's official website: "I think there's an interest from Sheffield United for Gary, but it's not quite yet been ratified by the agents or Kevin Blackwell at United. "But there is an interest and we'll just have to wait and see what develops over the next few days."
