Sheffield United manager Gary Speed hopes to extend Richie De Laet's loan spell at Bramall Lane.
The 21-year-old is on a one-month emergency loan deal from Manchester United and has impressed the Blades boss during his brief spell with the club.
"It's certainly something we shall have a look at," Speed told the Sheffield Star.
"I'd seen him three of four times in Manchester United's reserves and he was their best player. I think the two games he's started for us he's been excellent as well."
De Laet, who has featured in six first-team matches for Sir Alex Ferguson's team, has played in three games for the Blades since moving to the club last month.
