Blades land winger Dyer

Sheffield United have agreed to sign Southampton winger Nathan Dyer on a three-month loan deal while Jordan Robertson has moved in the opposite direction.

Earlier this year, Dyer was sentenced to 60 hours community service after pleading guilty to a burglary charge.

Dyer and team-mate Bradley Wright-Phillips had been accused of stealing money, mobile phones and other items in a nightclub.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell said of Dyer: "Nathan's got the ability to play wide left. He's blessed with exceptional pace and, as a young kid, when he first came on to the scene, he was spoken of in the same terms as Theo Walcott.

"Our fans will love him. He'll add an extra dimension and spark to our play."

Blackwell has also handed trials to the former Manchester City winger Kiki Musampa and ex-Manchester United star Quinton Fortune.
