Blades land defender Halls

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has snapped up Reading defender John Halls on a month's loan.

The Blades have been keen to sign a right-back ever since Leigh Bromby moved to Watford in January.

Blackwell told United's official website: "Because of our problems with injuries I'm delighted to bring in John Halls to the club.

"Hopefully, he'll have a good stay and be able to put himself in the shop window as he's out of contract at the end of the season."
