Blades investment talks ongoing

Sheffield United are continuing to hold discussions with a Malaysian businessman about possible new investment in the club.

However, chief executive Trevor Birch admits the talks are not progressing as rapidly as he had hoped.

"The talks are ongoing but nothing is imminent," Birch told the Sheffield Star. "When we previously spoke of a time-frame, it was never set in stone. It wasn't a cut-off point.

"These things are never as strict as that. That would be the wrong thing to do. We are continuing to talk and we will see what happens."
