Blades in dark over Howard

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell claims he is in the dark over Brian Howard's proposed move to Bramall Lane from Barnsley.

The former Tykes captain was believed to have joined the Blades on Monday after they claimed to have agreed a deal to sign the midfielder.

Barnsley subsequently denied that a deal has been struck and Howard currently remains in limbo at Oakwell.

Speaking after Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers, Blackwell said: "It was agreed (on Monday night).

"I can't say anything."

On the victory at the Keepmoat Stadium, he added: "If we can get a good result against Bristol City on Saturday, then we will have put our little blip behind us.

"Yorkshire derbies and tough games to win and if you come away from home and get three points then you're delighted."
