Blades hopeful over Kenny

Sheffield United hope to discover next week what Football Association action suspended goalkeeper Paddy Kenny will face.

Kenny was suspended by the club late last season after a drugs test found traces of ephedrine in his system.

The keeper claimed at the time that it must have come from an over-the-counter cold remedy and he now faces an FA disciplinary hearing next week.

"The commission are due to hear Paddy's case on Tuesday, but having not been involved with anything like this before I don't know what the procedures will be on the day," said manager Kevin Blackwell.

"It would be helpful to us if it was all sorted on the day so we know where we stand, so I hope it's not one of those occasions when those involved go away afterwards and don't deliver a decision until a later date."
