    Blades end Nugent interest

    09 Jan 2007 - 15:28:36

Sheffield United have ended their interest in David Nugent after Blades boss Neil Warnock described the Preston North End striker as being "outrageously overpriced".

Warnock has been on the trail of the England Under-21 international for some time but has decided to end his interest after having a reported £6million bid turned down.

"Derek Shaw (Preston chairman) has made it clear they've no intention of selling him, so we've moved on," revealed Warnock.

"In a way it's just as well because I think David is outrageously overpriced for what we are talking about.

"He is a good player and I'd love to have him, but at the moment it is not realistic.

"I can understand that because Preston are trying to get into the Premiership.

"They've a great chance and he is one of their major assets, if not the major asset, so good luck to Preston."
