Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has again reiterated the club's desire to keep star striker James Beattie at Bramall Lane, despite the Blades missing out on promotion.
The 30-year-old England international scored 22 goals in 41 appearances in his first season at Bramall Lane and McCabe says his club are not about to be forced into selling Beattie.
He told the Sheffield Star: "We don't want to lose James and nor to we expect him to leave.
"He's as happy as Larry here and it's great to have him. Anyone who has spoken to James or who has seen him play will tell you that.
"James is subject to a long-term contract and that says everything, although I accept that what happens in football is not always down to the clubs anymore.
"But we love having him, he's done exceptionally well and we don't want to lose him."
