Blades deny Beattie link

Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson has rubbished reports linking James Beattie with a return to the Premier League with Middlesbrough.

The former England striker has scored 11 times in 16 appearances for the Blades since joining them for £4million in the summer from Everton.

In recent weeks, the 29-year-old has been linked with Boro, but United chief Robson is adamant his top-scorer is not for sale.

"I haven't been contacted by anyone about James or any other of my players for that matter," he told the Sheffield Star.

"And there isn't anyone I want to let go either."

Meanwhile, striker Rob Hulse is set to return for the reserves on Wednesday night following his eight-month lay-off after breaking his leg in a Premier League clash with Chelsea last season.
