Blades cut a deal for Beattie

The 25-year-old has already spent time on loan at Blades' Championship rivals Crystal Palace this season - scoring five goals in 15 league appearances for the Eagles. However, Beattie was recalled by Baggies boss Tony Mowbray in mid-December and made the scoresheet in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham at the end of last year. Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: "Craig is a Scottish international and a player with a proven track record at this level. "He gives us much-needed reinforcement for the run-in."
