Blades close in on Lita

Sheffield United have had an undisclosed bid for striker Leroy Lita accepted by Championship rivals Reading.

The Blades are keen to bolster their attacking options after selling James Beattie to Stoke City earlier this week.

Former Bristol City forward Lita has struggled to break into Royals boss Steve Coppell's first-team plans and spent time on loan at Norwich City earlier this term.

The 24-year-old has scored 61 goals in 186 league appearances since making his first-team debut more than six years ago.
