Blades boss hails United fans

Published: 04 Jun 2009 - 15:26:00

The Blades enjoyed the second highest average home attendance in the Championship last term, with just over 26,000 making Bramall Lane an intimidating place to visit. Blackwell said: "I remember speaking to John Aldridge once after he had been to a game here and he couldn't get enough of the atmosphere our fans create. "Stuart Pearce also spoke about the noise at the derby in 2008 and that is what our fans are about. "They've got such an influence. Every manager has critics in the crowd, but on the whole they know I give them everything and the performances have been good enough to keep us pushing for promotion. "They are Premier League fans and I would like to thank them for everything they have done and given. This is a great place we can be proud of and everyone just wants to get to the Premiership."
