Blades: No bids for Quinn

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has dismissed speculation suggesting that the Blades had fielded a major bid from Middlesbrough for midfielder Stephen Quinn.

The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland international is rumoured to be attracting interest from several top-flight clubs, but Blackwell has slammed talk of a Boro bid.

He told the Sheffield Star: "There has been no approach for Stephen.

"There has been lots of speculation but nothing has come in. That is a fact, that is the situation exactly as it is.

"I've seen lots of things about lots of people in the media, but I'm not in the business of talking about speculation because that's all it is.

"Suffice to say that nobody will be leaving here unless we want them to and it is on our terms."
