Blackwell tips Kilgallon to stay

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell fully expects Matthew Kilgallon to still be a Blades player at the start of next season.

The central defender has been linked with a switch to Wigan Athletic but Blackwell thinks such a scenario is unlikely.

He told the Sheffield Star: "I've held preliminary talks with Matt and those negotiations will continue when I return from holiday next week.

"Of course I want him to stay, and I'm optimistic that he will."
