Blackwell plans for new arrivals

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is already planning an overhaul of his squad in January.

The Blades have slipped out of the promotion picture in recent weeks and Blackwell has said he is willing to wheel and deal in an attempt to strengthen his squad.

"We've got four of five lads on loan who will be out of contract in January so would have to go back," he said. "We'll have to make one or two permanent signings.

"We'll be trying to bring the right ones in and we're looking everywhere, including abroad.

"There are only a handful of the team which reached the play-off final last season still here and that's too big a turnover."
