Blackwell lauds Uniteds steel

Published: 03 Jun 2009 - 14:11:00

The Blades went 15 league games without defeat on the road after losing at Sheffield Wednesday in October and broke the club record that had stood since 1893. Blackwell said: "I knew after that we had the character and we showed no signs of buckling throughout the run until the Burnley defeat. "The lads played without fear and that added pressure, which saw them blossom and develop a real confidence when we were on the road. "We knew our strengths and resilience and in the last half-hour of matches we really pulled out some results, especially after the home supporters vented their frustrations and discontent at their players."
