    Blackwell hopes Kenny stays

    31 Dec 2008 - 08:45:07

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell hopes unsettled goalkeeper Paddy Kenny ultimately stays at Bramall Lane.

Kenny, 30, has been transfer listed after being left out of the recent games against Wolves and Charlton for disciplinary reasons.

The Republic of Ireland international is unhappy at not having been offered a new contract by the Blades.

"Paddy and I had an amicable chat and we have agreed to this course of action," Blackwell told the club's official website.

"He has been here a long time and has been an important part of this club but if you turn up late for training there is a price to be paid.

"Maybe this will be a sharp reminder to him that he is part of this club and the rules that govern it.

"I have great respect for Paddy as a goalkeeper and have always been amazed that people haven't been in for him before - and I hope nobody does now and that he will settle down eventually.

"We will put his name out and see if there is a club out there for Paddy Kenny. If there isn't, then it will suit me all round."
