Blackwell backing for Laws

Laws is under mounting pressure at Hillsborough after a run of seven league games without a win has left his side fourth-from-bottom in the table, one point off the drop zone. Blackwell said: "I have the utmost respect for Brian as a man and a manager, working at a club that has struggled financially for a number of years. "Sometimes things conspire against a manager that he has no control over and he has to work with what he has. When results suffer it doesn't make him a bad manager overnight. "Most managers have been in the same position where they need results to turn for them and I think he's big enough and able enough to get through it. "As an ambassador for Sheffield Wednesday and the city of Sheffield Brian Laws has been excellent."
