Beattie tipped to stay

Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn has backed team-mate James Beattie to stay at Bramall Lane and bag the goals to help the Blades challenge for an immediate return to the top-flight.

Beattie has scored 11 times in 16 games since his £4million move from Everton, sparking talk of interest from the Premier League ahead of the January transfer window.

However, Quinn told the Sheffield Star: "I don't think he wants to leave, his heart is in getting United back up.

"He's banging in the goals and I hope he gets 30 and sends us back up to the Premier League.

"James has experience at international level, so for him to come to United and do what he's doing is brilliant.

"His goals have kept us going. Every time you put the ball in the box, he looks like scoring.

"You know when you play it up to him that he can definitely get goals and that's why we paid so much for him."
