Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield go head to head early on Saturday with both teams knowing that anything less than 3 points would make automatic promotion look difficult going into the final 5 games.
Sheffield United currently have the advantage in terms of the race for 2nd place and if Wednesday don’t take 3 points the Blades could give themselves a comfortable cushion by beating Bournemouth at home later on in the afternoon.
The Owls make the short trip without the services of captain Rob Jones who picked up a 10th booking of the season last weekend and must serve a 2-match suspension.
Danny Batth and Miguel Llera are likely to form the centre-back partnership in the absence of Jones and other than that few if any changes are expected from the side that beatPreston2-0 at Hillsborough last time out.
Huddersfield are also without a defender due to suspension. Jack Hunt was booked in the midweek win at Leyton Orient and as with Jones; he will miss the next 2 matches.
Full-back Gary Naismith is likely to miss out due to injury as could midfielders Damien Johnson and Oscar Gobern. Striker Lee Novak picked up a knock in midweek and will be assessed before the match.
Wednesday are in fine form going into this fixture. The Owls are unbeaten since Dave Jones took charge and have won 5 of their last 7 games.
Huddersfield bounced back from last weekend’s defeat at Carlisle to win at Leyton Orient during the week. That defeat atCarlislewas their only loss in 10 matches.
The two teams played out a memorable draw at Hillsborough in December when the Owls went 2-0 down, came back to lead 4-2 only to be pegged back by an injury time equaliser. Wednesday were beaten 1-0 at Huddersfield last season.
