Wilkinson `hopeful` after Owls talks

Sheffield Wednesday chairman Howard Wilkinson is "more hopeful" than he has been following the latest rounds of talks with potential investors. The Owls were granted an extra four weeks to settle outstanding tax bills in the High Court on Friday or face almost certain administration and the club continue to thrash out negotiations with at least four parties keen on taking control. Wilkinson said: "What I am happy to talk about is people who want to and who can do the deal. "That makes me more hopeful than I have been up to now. I can remember eight weeks ago people starting this process and six weeks later not having achieved what I've seen achieved in the past seven days. "It's now very, very intense. We've had a series of meetings (on Monday) and you come out of each meeting feeling you have made progress. "We should never have been in court last Wednesday and now we must ensure that never happens again."
