Owls look to Lowe for goals Sheffield Wednesday have finally ended their summer long search for a front line forward by securing the services of Bury striker Ryan Lowe. The Liverpudlian, who scored against the Owls in Bury’s recent 2-1 home win against Wednesday, has signed a two-year deal at Hillsborough, describing the transfer as a dream move. Gary Megson will be delighted to have secured a player with proven pedigree in the lower leagues who is in as good a form as any striker in League One at present. Last season Lowe spearheaded Bury’s charge to promotion from League Two, scoring 27 goals in 46 league games and he has had no problem adjusting to life in League One, scoring 7 goals in 7 games so far this season. In 100 appearances for the Shakers Lowe scored a highly impressive 53 goals and was named as the Player of the Year in League Two in 2010/11. At 32 years of age Lowe can hardly be described as one for the future but the priority for Wednesday is the here and now in terms of getting back into the Championship and in that respect he appears to fit the bill perfectly.
