Owls snap up midfielder Sheffield Wednesday have moved to further enhance their attacking options by securing the services of Bristol Rovers winger Chris Lines. The attacking midfielder has moved to Hillsborough for an undisclosed fee, signing a 3-year contract with the Owls. The 25-year-old has spent his entire career to date at Bristol Rovers, working his way through the ranks to become a first team regular and he had captained the side during pre-season. Since making his league debut in January 2006 Lines has gone on to make over 150 appearances for Rovers including more than 80 league starts in the past 2 seasons. His best season to date in goal scoring terms came in 2009/10 when he netted 10 times. Last season saw him notch 3 goals in a struggling side as Bristol suffered relegation. Lines will wear the number 8 shirt for the Owls this season and could make his debut in Saturday’s League One fixture at Bournemouth.
