Wednesday looking for a winning finish

Owls Vs Exeter: Team news and preview Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to finish the season on a high on Saturday when they face Exeter City at Hillsborough. The Owls have been in fine form at home of late and a victory could see them secure a top half finish if either Brentford, Colchester or Carlisle fail to pick up maximum points. Striker Neil Mellor will be looking to finish his loan spell in style and add to his 20 goals this term having picked up the clubs Player of the Year award during the week. Centre-back Mark Beevers is the only injury absentee for the Owls. The likes of Lewis Buxton, James O’Connor, Jermaine Johnson and Tommy Miller could all be in line for their final appearances for the club, depending on the results of contract negotiations that are set to take place next week. Exeter have had a fine season, only narrowly missing out on a play-off place and with no pressure on them they are likely to play with some degree of freedom at Hillsborough. City manager Paul Tisdale will have to do without the services of striker John O’Flynn as he is suffering from a toe infection. Midfielder David Noble is also a doubt due to an ankle injury. It will be an emotional day for defender Rob Edwards who is set to be involved in the 1st team for the final time before he retires. Midfielder Ryan Harley will also play his last game for City before returning to parent club Swansea. The pair have both made well over 100 appearances for Exeter. Wednesday have suffered just 1 defeat in their last 7 matches and have won 4 in a row at Hillsborough. Exeter are also in excellent form having won 6 of their last 7 matches. The Owls will be looking to avenge the crushing 5-1 defeat that they were dealt at Exeter back in December. The 2 sides have faced each other at Hillsborough on only 3 occasions previously with Wednesday winning 2 and losing 1.
