The 26-year-old is on a month's loan at the Yorkshire club, having struggled to hit form since joining Derby from Charlton in November. He has scored just one goal in nine appearances for the Rams.[LNB]Varney is keen to play a role for the Owls during his stay at Hillsborough, but his long-term aim is to show Derby manager Nigel Clough that he can make an impact at Pride Park.[LNB]"I have had a tough time since Nigel Clough took over at Derby and it is just nice to be playing again," Varney told the Daily Express.[LNB]"Since he came in I have picked up an injury and had a couple of bouts of illness, so it hasn't really happened for me.[LNB]"But the manager has told me I am still in his plans for next season, so I will just try to get a few more games under my belt here and see what happens. I still have a long contract at Derby and want to do well there."[LNB][LNB]
