Varney revels in match winner
Sheffield Wednesday striker Luke Varney hailed his winner against relegation rivals Watford as "the most important goal I have scored" for the club.
Varney, on loan from Derby until the end of the season, smashed home an 89th-minute winner to lift Wednesday four points above the relegation zone and set them up for Saturday's clash at Coventry.
He said: "I don't think we've scored many late goals this season and we've probably deserved a bit of luck.
"We needed the points. It was a massive push in the second half and I was lucky that I gambled when I did.
"That's definitely the most important goal I have scored for Wednesday, so hopefully now we can push forward and take the confidence into Saturday."
Varney added: "It was a big goal and I'm not one to hide my emotions when I score. I was just delighted I put the ball in the net."
