Turner: Owls' stuffed without cash
Turner, sacked by the Owls after two years in charge in 2004, believes Alan Irvine is the right man to replace Brian Laws, but he cannot envisage continued success at Hillsborough until the club gets rid of their debt, which is believed to be in the region of £26million.[LNB]Turner told Press Association Sport: "Investment in football clubs is very elusive. If he (chairman Lee Strafford) can go and find £10million or £20million he will have done a tremendous job, but no club can keep promising and not delivering.[LNB]"Supporters want to hear you have got it. Sheffield Wednesday fans have had enough of 'it's coming, it's coming, it's coming'. It's not arrived."[LNB]Irvine has become the club's sixth permanent manager since the Owls were relegated from the Premier League in 2000 and Turner, a lifelong fan of the club, added: "I hope they can find this investment because the club is going from manager to manager and crisis to crisis.[LNB]"They cannot get back in the Premier League until this cycle is reversed and that can only happen if they get rid of their massive debt."[LNB][LNB]
