Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Chris Turner believes the sale of the club to a Middle East consortium is imminent. Turner expects to be handed a role at Hillsborough and is representing the propective new owners, who could soon be ready to announce a takeover of the club, which is more than £25million in debt. Turner, in charge of the Owls from November 2002 to September 2004, told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's just tying up the loose ends and asking a few final questions. The deal should be completed shortly. "The group have never shouted from the rooftops that they are buying Sheffield Wednesday and going to take them to the Premiership. It's all been kept quiet and kept under wraps. "We've tried not to give fans false hope which they have been given in the past. It's a serious attempt which is going very very well." The Owls interim chairman Howard Wilkinson revealed earlier in the week that the consortium will hand over an advance of £2million to help with cash flow problems and pay off an outstanding tax bill of £600,000.
