Owls manager Brian Laws was keen to keep hold of the 25-year-old striker, named player of the year at Hillsborough this season, to help spearhead a play-off challenge next season. Laws, who has now tied down both Tudgay and goalkeeper Lee Grant as well as signing Darren Purse from Cardiff, said: "Marcus epitomises what I want from all of my players in that he is a committed and dedicated professional who never gives anything less than his all on matchdays or on the training pitch. "He's a top quality player who can play in a number of positions. Marcus was top scorer for us this season and there's plenty more to come from him because he's still improving as a player." Tudgay arrived at Hillsborough from Derby in January 2006 and has since made 143 appearances, scoring 38 goals.
