Tudgay flies Owls nest

Nottingham Forest have signed Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay on loan until January. The deal to take the 27-year-old to the City Ground includes the option for a permanent agreement in the new year. Both sides were keen to finalise a move before the deadline for emergency loan deals, with Wednesday experiencing financial difficulties and Forest keen to bolster their attacking ranks. The Owls desperately need to address their mounting debts and the removal of a high-earner such as Tudgay from the wage bill will aid their cause. Meanwhile, Forest have seen Dexter Blackstock ruled out for at least a year with a knee ligament injury and are short of attacking options with David McGoldrick also out for around a month.
