Strafford in plea to Owls fans

Almost 13,000 supporters have already signed up - 5,000 more than this time last year - but Strafford has pledged to improve the budget by around £2million if his target of 16,500 sales is met by the end of the month. Strafford told the club's official website: "The uptake of season tickets we saw when they went on sale back in April was tremendous and that allowed Brian to go out and do some early business in the transfer market, securing the services of quality signings with a wealth of experience in Michael Gray, Darren Purse and Tommy Miller. "However, we have always said that to increase our footballing budget to the level we want for next season would require us to reach the target of 16,500 season tickets by July 31. "Therefore, to enable Brian to secure the extra signings he wants and optimise our push for the play-offs next year we need to sell 3,750 more season tickets in the next four weeks. "That may look like a steep target to some but I still believe there are many Wednesdayites out there who can and would be better off committing to season tickets."
