Grant, 26, scooped the award for the second successive year at the end of another impressive season at Hillsborough, where he made a total of 48 appearances in all competitions.
Wood told the club's official website: "Granty has been outstanding for us, his shot-stopping is unbelievable.
"His game has come on so much over the past couple of years and I think he's the perfect example of what can be achieved through hard work.
"He puts the work in, he never gets injured and the rewards are there for all to see.
"As a defender it's great to have someone so consistent behind you. I think he's fully deserved all the accolades that have come his way."
