A winding up petition against Sheffield Wednesday was dismissed at the High Court on Wednesday after the Owls paid their tax debts in full.

The League One side have been saved from possible administration after the £9million takeover of the club by Milan Mandaric.

The Serbian-born businessman settled the club's outstanding £1.1million debt to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Catherine Addy, representing HMRC, told Mr Registrar Jaques that the debt had been paid in full and asked for the petition to be dismissed.
