Midfielder Chris Lines is still "three or four weeks" away from a return to first-team action, according to Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones.

The 26-year-old, who was a crucial member of the Owls promotion-winning side last season, has missed the last three months with a groin injury.

He had stepped up his rehabilitation with run-outs for the reserves and Under-21 sides in the past week and was hopeful of making the bench for the visit of fellow strugglers Peterborough on Saturday but Jones has ruled this out.

Wednesday recorded their first win since August when they beat bottom of the league Ipswich last weekend, ending a winless run spanning 10 matches, and the Owls manager is likely to name the same XI with no fresh injury or suspension concerns.

Forward George Boyd and midfielder Michael Bostwick are expected to be fit for Peterborough's trip to Hillsborough.

Both players have been nursing knocks following the 3-0 home win over Derby but they should train towards the end of the week and be available for the game in South Yorkshire, which sees fourth-from-bottom Posh take on the team below them in the table.

Peterborough are less sure about Tommy Rowe's fitness. The wing-back has had a second scan on the troublesome ankle problem that has ruled him out of the last two matches.

Manager Darren Ferguson will continue to monitor Rowe but at the moment it is "touch and go" whether the left-sided player will return to the squad on Saturday.
