Carvalhal to ring changes

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal has no fresh injury concerns for Tuesday's Capital One Cup clash against Oxford but is expected to ring the changes once again.

Skipper Glenn Loovens (foot) and goalkeeper Keiren Westwood (kidney) both missed Saturday's Sky Bet Championship draw at Leeds through injury and are likely to be absent again for the visit of the League Two U's.

Atdhe Nuhiu sat out last Wednesday's league match with Reading due to a neck injury but he was able to play the full 90 minutes against Leeds and is set to be available if Carvalhal needs him.

The Portuguese boss made six changes to his starting line-up for Saturday's Yorkshire derby and he is set to shuffle his pack once more.

Michael Appleton may decide to stick with the same side which drew 1-1 at Mansfield on the weekend, extending their unbeaten start to the season.

Callum O'Dowda should retain his place in the starting line-up but John Lundstram may come in after being named on the bench against the Stags.

After being replaced at half-time, Alex MacDonald will return to the starting XI.

Oxford have no suspension or injury concerns as they look to make it one round further than last season's second-round exit.
