Duo hoping for Owls bow

Sheffield Wednesday's latest signings Rhoys Wiggins and Modou Sougou could both make their debuts for the club against Mansfield.

Defender Wiggins, signed from Charlton, and former Marseille winger Sougou both arrived last week but were not included in head coach Carlos Carvalhal's squad for the opening-day win against Bristol City.

Carvalhal, who has no new injury or suspension worries, is expected to be without injured pair Claude Dielna and Filipe Melo again and is likely to make three or four changes.

Defenders Darryl Lachman and Vincent Sasso are in contention for debuts and fellow summer signing Lucas Joao could start, while midfielders Keiron Lee and Jose Semedo, plus striker Caolan Lavery are hoping make their first appearance of the season.

Mansfield will be without Lee Collins, who suffered a knock ahead of the draw with Carlisle at the weekend.

Stags boss Adam Murray wants to take things easy with the 26-year-old defender and nurse him back to fitness.

Murray told the club's official website: "We missed Lee Collins on Saturday due to a knock. It's not a major one but it's more of a cautious one; we [need to] make sure that we get him right in the next couple of weeks rather than lose him for a longer period."

Matty Blair and Luke Jones remain long-term absentees with knee injuries.
