Trio in Owls frame

Sheffield Wednesday's new loan signings Sam Hutchinson, Gary Gardner and Leon Best are all hoping to make their debuts against Derby.

Chelsea defender Hutchinson, Aston Villa midfielder Gardner, brother of Sunderland's Craig, and Blackburn striker Best, in his third spell with the Owls, arrived on emergency loan deals last week.

Centre-back Glenn Loovens is expected to return to the starting line-up after missing the last three games due to a hamstring injury and Giles Coke is available after suspension.

But winger Jermaine Johnson sits out the last game of his three-match ban as the Owls bid to bounce back from their home defeat to Wigan last time out.

Derby boss Steve McClaren has a number of midfield options available to him ahead of the trip to Hillsborough.

On-loan West Brom midfielder George Thorne was an unused substitute in his side's last two outings, and he is in contention to make his Rams debut.

Fellow midfielder Jeff Hendrick came off the bench in the 1-0 victory over QPR and he is vying for starting berth.

Long-term absentees Paul Coutts and Shaun Barker remain sidelined with their knee injuries.
