Sheffield Wednesday will be without suspended winger Jermaine Johnson for their opening home game of the season against Burnley.

The Jamaica international was shown a straight red card in the midweek Capital One Cup defeat at Rotherham for head-butting Ben Pringle and starts a three-game game.

Scans have confirmed defender Joe Mattock damaged medial knee ligaments in the opening-day defeat at QPR and will be out for up to three weeks, so manager Dave Jones must decide whether to retain latest signing Rafael Floro after the teenager made his debut on Tuesday night.

Defender Reda Johnson is back in training, but not ready to make his first appearance of the season as he recovers from tendonitis.

Ben Mee could come back into the reckoning for Burnley.

The defender has yet to feature this season after injuring his knee in pre-season but played 90 minutes for their development squad on Wednesday night.

Boss Sean Dyche must consider whether he wants to make any changes, though, after his unchanged XI dispatched York 4-0 in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Michael Duff (hamstring) remains the Clarets' only injury absentee.
