Reading inquest lifted Owls

Sheffield Wednesday skipper Darren Purse has revealed the team meeting which followed their 5-0 thrashing at Reading could prove to be the turning point in the Owls' season. Wednesday slumped to a third straight league defeat at the Madejski Stadium at the end of last month and slid into the bottom three, but Alan Irvine's side responded with a win over Leicester, a narrow defeat at West Brom and a goalless draw at Swansea. Purse told the club's official website: "We've had a reaction since the Reading defeat. We sat down and discussed it and have come out with three really good performances. "We probably didn't get the result we deserved at West Brom, but the other two we deserved what we got and maybe should have come away unbeaten from all three of those matches. "We've been looking solid and not like conceding goals. We've had two clean sheets, which is great for everybody, especially the defensive lads."
