Quakers snap up Modest

Darlington have secured the services of Sheffield Wednesday's Nathan Modest on loan until the end of the season. The 19-year-old striker goes straight into the Quakers squad for their FA Trophy clash with Bath on Saturday. Modest has had a successful stint in the Owls reserves but has had limited first-team opportunities and Darlington manager Mark Cooper believes he will be an asset for his side. "We've been looking for a bit of pace up front to get in behind teams and Nathan will provide that," Cooper told the club`s official website. "He's a decent player, he's very highly-rated by Sheffield Wednesday and we're hopeful he'll get a few goals and have a good experience with us. We're delighted to get him on a long-term arrangement, as well. I'm conscious not to chop and change things around, we want a settled squad to take into the run-in. "We've got lots of games coming up and it's an opportunity for Nathan to get plenty under his belt and continue his development as a young player, which will hopefully benefit us."
