Purse ready to face old employers

Purse quit Cardiff in the summer for a new challenge at Sheffield Wednesday, who he joined on a free transfer, and was quickly installed as captain by Owls manager Brian Laws. The 32-year-old, facing his former team-mates for the first time since his switch, told the Owls' official website: "We have to be on our guard because Cardiff are an excellent side going forward, so if we can keep that side of their game quiet - with the way that we have been playing going forward and scoring goals - then this is a winnable game for us. "Cardiff are unpredictable on the road like a lot of teams in the Championship. They beat Reading away, but lost to Doncaster and struggled up at Blackpool, so it would seem they are not at their best on their travels and hopefully we can make that count in our favour.
