Purse confident of survival
Sheffield Wednesday captain Darren Purse has backed his charges to avoid relegation this season.
Former skipper Richard Wood came back to haunt Wednesday in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Coventry, leaving the Owls just two points clear of the drop zone.
Wednesday have lost just one of their seven league games in March and Purse believes that kind of form can secure their safety in the Championship for another season.
"If we keep playing like we have been doing we'll be in this division next season," he told the Sheffield Star. "We've only lost one of out last seven games.
"Since the Reading game (5-0 defeat at the end of February), the lads have taken on board everything that the gaffer has said, and it's worked well for us."
