Purse boost for Owls

Sheffield Wednesday skipper Darren Purse is expected to be fit to face Oldham at Hillsborough. The central defender felt unwell at half-time after being hit in the face by the ball in Saturday's defeat to Southampton and failed to reappear, but will resume at the heart of defence with Jon Otsemobor likely to make way. Manager Alan Irvine has no new injury or suspension problems, but could be tempted to make further changes after his side slipped to a fourth straight league defeat. Midfielder Tommy Miller and striker Clinton Morrison are both pushing for starts, while Irvine's squad could soon be boosted by the return of winger Jermaine Johnson. The Jamaica international, yet to appear for the Owls this season, is hoping to return to training next week following a long-term knee injury.
