Owls wait on duo

Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine is hoping both Leon Clarke and Jermaine Johnson can prove their fitness in time for Sunday's Steel City derby at Hillsborough. Forward Clarke was restricted to the substitutes' bench in last week's defeat at Middlesbrough, which forced Irvine to put winger Johnson straight back in as a central striker following a spell on the sidelines and the Jamaica international went on to play the full 90 minutes. Both players have been struggling with hamstring problems and Irvine is hoping Johnson has not suffered a reaction. Defender Lewis Buxton could return after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, while midfield pair Tommy Miller (calf) and Sean McAllister (stomach) have both been out of action for several weeks and are not expected to feature. The Owls, who have no other new injury or suspension problems, are chasing their first win in five matches in their bid to leapfrog Crystal Palace and climb out of the bottom three.
