Owls to make long-term commitment

Wednesday became the first club in the Championship to donate their shirt sponsorship to charity - at a reported cost of £500,000 - when announcing the deal earlier this week.[LNB]Strafford said: "The club has committed to a two-year contract that will see the Children's Hospital logo on all playing kit.[LNB]"But this is just part of an ongoing working relationship with the hospital and the partnership is something that will continue long beyond the terms that are in writing.[LNB]"Having a strong bond between the club and the hospital with far-reaching benefits for both organisations is something that I'm passionate about and will be dedicated to for as long as I am chairman of Sheffield Wednesday."[LNB]Strafford added: "The club has received substantial commercial offers from potential main sponsors that represented a very favourable deal for Sheffield Wednesday.
