Training camp followed by away matches Sheffield Wednesday’s preparation for the 2010/11 season sees them travel overseas for a training camp before taking to the road back in England. The Owls squad will depart for a fitness based trip to Austria at the beginning of August that will finish with one match against an as yet unconfirmed opponent. On their return to England Wednesday kick-off a 6-match pre-season schedule on Tuesday 13th July when the club will send teams to both Stocksbridge Park Steels and Hallam FC. The following week sees the Owls travel to the two teams relegated from League Two this season. They travel to Grimsby Town on Saturday the 17th and then Darlington the following Tuesday. The final two scheduled games take the club to Scunthorpe on July 24th and Barnsley on the 27th. In recent close seasons Wednesday have become accustomed to facing a Premier League outfit at Hillsborough as part of their build-up and with the League One campaign not set to start until August 7th, it remains to be seen whether the club will arrange a fixture for the weekend of the 31st July.
